I have been looking forward to it since the first week of school.
The long anticipated school break is finally here!

DAY 1 - 23/03/2009

My companion for this trip. Dumb best was really nice throughout the whole trip giving in a lot to me. Thank you for giving up your window seat, thank you for letting me have the queen size bed and really thank you for all the things that you had gave in to me. Let go for another trip soon when we save enough but please give in to me as much as possible like this trip.

The seafood rice we had for supper with a super nice sponge cake.

We were supposed to rest after supper but dumb best was still super energetic and could not catch a short nap even when the lights were off. It was interesting because I on the other hand was tired and managed to fall asleep but not dumb best. Nevertheless my good sleep did not last long. Two hours before landing, woke up and chit chat with dumb best and we started toilet visiting trips. We went to the toilet at least three times because we kept asking for water :( to quench our thirst. Our lips were super dried too and we kept applying lip balm.

We were finally near to smelling the korea air we had longed for. While filling the declaration card dumb best and I were really excited and we kept shaking each other hand to make sure that we are not dreaming. We double checked to make sure all the particulars we had filled in were right because the last thing that we want it to happen was to be detain by the custom.

Guess what. !@#$%^&*. When we landed, we were told that it was one degree celsius outside. The smart best friends were in knee-length shorts and our sweaters were considered thin so we wore a few more layers of clothes to keep ourselves warm but the tour guide was still hinting us that what were wore was still unsustainable. Luckily, the two smart best friends managed to survive the cold. We could even camwhored but it was inside a bus lah on our way to nami island. The bus ride was about an hour plus and we fall asleep right after the tour guide briefing. Ps. our tour guide knew who we were right after we reported to him. We did not even have to report our names to him.

When we reached chuncheon, we had to take a short five minutes boat ride to nami island. The two smart friends decided to act smart again and tried to get out of the boat to enjoy the wind. The weather was already enough to kill us but the darn wind really killed us thoroughly. It was frigging cold and unbearable and we were shivering. But once we reached nami island we were taken in by the breath taking scenery especially the tree paths and totally ignored the coldness. Thus a series of camwhoring session started.

These were the tree paths where they filmed winter sonata. We waited for everyone to slowly walk away before taking these pictures but still make sure that the adults from our tour were within our sight. We wanted to make sure that we still have time.

Hello we are the dumb and dumber best friends from singapore haha.

It was nice to see some greenly scenery at a browny island so how can the camwhorers we miss the chance to take pictures with it and since it lover land we shall bring our lovers there the next time since they live so near only. Haha but dumb best will have a hard time to decide who she wants to bring along. That idiotic woman who changes her mind really quick.

Personally I love/like this four pictures and think they are the best taken ones at nami island. Actually other than the big white piano, there is a big white violin version too but I accidentally delete the picture away so yeah. With that, we ended our trip to nami island and proceeded on with lunch when we eventually make friends with the ajummas and they were our first friends in the tour. They helped us cooked our lunch and make sure that we had enough food to eat.

Brought to dongdaemun after lunch and the tour guide brought us to a shopping mall. The first song we heard in the mall was super junior sorry sorry. How fated. Haha but there are nothing much inside the mall so we walked to the other malls to have a look. Brave us because we were walking around without any adults. Our tour mates were totally out of our sight. But we got tired after awhile so we walked into a tourist hub to ask if there is any nearby bookshop around. It was disappointing to know that we had to take the subway to reach the nearest bookshop which was a risky thing to do thus we gave up that idea. Walked around again before heading back to the mall to sit and wait for the meet-up time.

This was the first item we brought in korea at incheon airport. The two smart friends were super nervous because of the communication barrier we had. Fortuitously, the salesgirl was able to speak in english. Anyway it cost us ₩6000 but it killed two birds with one stone. We can have doughnuts when we are hungry and dumb best can keep her lover box as souvenir however she will nag at me if I never take care of the box or when I accidentally misplaced it at somewhere.

This was the beautiful sunset we saw on our way to the boarding gate.

When we reached jeju island, it was already night time. The wind was really killing us. Luckily the bus ride to our hotel cheju (jeju) oriental hotel was only fifteen minutes and the hotel was the only hotel we stayed for two days. Put down our luggage then we had to rush to lobby to meet for dinner. Dinner was crap as we had seafood steamboat and all I had was two pieces of fishcake ): but that not important. What was more important was to rush through the dinner and be on time for boys over flowers haha. Dumb best said we contributed to the rating.

DAY 2 - 24/03/2009

We were brought to this place for their abalone porridge even though the signboard wrote ginseng chicken soup. There is no abalone in the porridge too it was just a name for it but nevertheless the taste was still good. Side dishes were provided to go along with the porridge but only two things had my interest and that seaweed and eggs. The rest was a big no-no. Hahaha and dumb best and I were the first few to finish our breakfast so we had time to camwhore around. Not to mention the warm sun was the best gift that morning.

It was really a very peaceful morning and nothing else matter anymore.

Yongduam rock / dragon head rock. The guide told us that if we were to walk till the end of the bridge, we can see a group of ajummas eating live octopus but dumb best and I were too lazy and it was crowded with people as well. We decided that it would be good enough for us to just stand at one corner of the bridge and take pictures of the alluring surrounding. The wind was not chilly and the sun was good as mentioned so we stood there and admired.

When we were about to escape to return to the bus first, the guide dragged dumb best and I to take picture with this rock. He said if we visit the place and never take picture with this rock it is as good as we had never been to this place. After he was done with us, he had to help the others too so the both of us immediately fled to the toilet. On the way we saw a lot of local students streaming in so we stood there and started to be flower idiot haha but we never see any good-looking ones.

It was a short ride to songsan sunrise peak so I did not sleep and took pictures instead.

Luckily dumb best managed to capture the flying moments for me or else I would have killed and buried her over there but deep in her heart she will be more than happy to be buried at korea. The mountains are really gorgeous and it is a good site to watch sunrise but we were too late for it. As usual dumb best and I did not explore the place fully and only hang around places with lesser humans but were glad that we attempted jump shots at this spot or else most likely we will regret. This was also the spot where we took a group tour picture.

Before heading for the atv ride the guide dropped us here for ten minutes to take pictures with flowers. Atv ride was fun and thrilling because dumb best and I let the in-charges over there drove us. If we were to ride on our own many accidents would have happened like hahaha.

The sun was really good during lunchtime so we could take off our sweaters.

Thereafter the guide brought us to jeju folk village, a folk and history museum with miniature displays of traditional villages. Mummies will love it but not dumb best and me. Even though the environment was pleasing and the wind was affable, we still cannot wait to get out of the place. To act as if that we did enjoy we went to the toilet first than hang around take pictures to wait for somebody to go out first. How idiot a! But the guide did share something interesting about the jeju sculpture with us and btw that me in front of a wealthy family house.

Teddy museum was our next destination but we were only given forty minutes to walk around. We did not even have time to explore the museum garden ): which look really beautiful from the leaflet. Fortunately we had enough time to look through all the bears in the museum and to visit the teddy souvenir shop. The bears are really adorable. Dumb best brought one while I brought two. Dumb best brought a teddy hair band for her sister too. Then it was already time to meet-up after we had paid up so we quickly left the museum, took one last picture with this sign board and returned to the bus to proceed on with our last destination of the day.

Magic road was our last destination for the day before heading for dinner. We were asked to experience the strange phenomenon of going uphill when the bus engine was turned off. Wow! Then we were given ten minutes to get down of the bus to take pictures but I choose to stay. Dumb best got down too but not to take pictures lah but to buy drink because we had ran out of water so while waiting for them to be back took some pictures from my seat.

We should be taking pictures of the cherry blossom instead of ourselves. Tsk!

Finally ginseng chicken dinner but it does not taste nice ):

Head backed to the hotel to rest after dinner. While the rest followed the guide to explore the night market near our hotel, dumb best and I rested for awhile before heading out on our own to the emart. It does not look attractive from the outside but once you stepped inside, the wow factor immediately comes. There are like so many things in the mart including cds which are sold at a lower price and dumb best said it even better than carrefour but it was closing soon so we did not go to the food section. We went to the family mart beside our hotel to get food instead. Then rushed back to the hotel to watch boys over flowers again.

DAY 3 - 25/03/2009

Milk for our breakfast.

Leaving jeju island ): for daegu already. Dumb best gave her window seat to me.

It took us an hour plus to reach dongwasha temple from busan airport.

It was sense of achievement for conquering this long flight of stairs.

It was all about walking and sightseeing and blow wind at dongwasha temple.

Someone loves me too much so she must include me inside the picture.

So rare to see a toilet built uphill. We should have go and experience it.

Jung angro street next for shopping. Dumb best and I did some quick shopping only because we were on a budget day. We spent too much at the emart the previous day ): therefore we got to save save spend. Before heading underpass for some window shopping, we walked into a family mart and dumb best used her super singaporean english to ask the cashier about something. The best was the cashier actually understood what dumb best was asking and nodded his head or maybe he simply nodded his head for fun.

It was embarrassing to stand in the middle of the street but definitely worth it.

Haha a loner enjoying fish spa at spa valley. The fishes were too big so I dare not try.

After dumb best was done with the spa we went to walk around take pictures blow wind.

The water park was closed. They would be out of mind if they open it.

Thrifty dumb best treated me milk. No must be she wants to play with the machine.

Dumb best drank the tallest packet because she said she is taller than me.

Dinner was fun because ajumma esther shared a lot of stories with us. She told us that the guide was scare of ajumma alice. I think most probably was because of the atv ride incident. Dumb best was laughing so hard that she even put off the fire which was cooking our pot of mushroom. As for these pictures I think it was taken before dinner while waiting for the rest to be done with the spa. We took pictures with almost everything we could.

Dumb best started to get busy with the teevee once we got into the room.

Daegu Iner-burgo hotel was the smallest hotel we stayed in during our trip.

DAY 4 - 26/03/2009

We were smiling so happily because we had american big breakfast.

Dumb best keep emphasising that I took picture with a polluted pool.

It was a three hours bus ride from daegu to jeonju so we slept.

Our first stop of the day was korean traditional wine museum. Dumb best and I are not those that are interested in wines so when the guide was explaining about the historical brewing techniques the both of us were talking on our own. But he did catch our interest when he was explaining about a particular cup. 戒盈杯. The wines are put in cute bottles too and there a miniature set which cost ₩7000 only but we were not legible to bring wine back legally lah.

You can see many pretty flowers and ancient houses along the street of jeonju.

Then we took a five minutes walk from the wine museum to the traditional craftwork hall.

Cries because it was too cold so we cannot drink cold drink (No lah pose pose only)

The hall looks like ancient houses and there are stores that cater to different craftwork.

Maisan provincial park where two mountain peaks resemble the ears of a horse but dumb best and I could not see any ears so was ajumma alice. She said we climbed the mountain to make ourselves suffer only. The weather was like @!a#$b%^c&* that day and the wind was being very uncooperative. It kept coming while we were climbing up the hill. Almost everyone had their hands in their pockets or gloves. I could have died there if it was not because.

So rare that the wind was not hash on us so we immediately took a picture each.

It was snowing when we reached muju resort tirol hotel. How exciting it was for us.

After dinner, we still went around posing even though the snow was not visible in the pictures. Then we went to the mart to get some food and drinks. The guide was queuing behind us and he told dumb best that the kind of food they brought and the kind of food we brought were so different. They brought soju while dumb best and I brought like milks, soft drinks and mineral water so dumb best just smiled awkwardly at him and we started laughing on our way back. We cannot imagine what will happen to us if we were to buy a few bottles of soju to share.

The bed was super comfy.

Muju resort tirol hotel was one of the best hotels we stayed in with a really classy toilet but dumb best and I were too busy quarrelling that we forgot to take pictures of it. We were also arguing whether the window should be left open the night. Dumb best is scare of cold so she kept insisting no so in the end we opened the window for fifteen minutes to let the room get cooled before we go to bed. We agreed that we will take turn to wake up and open the window to let the room get cooled but I guessed we were too tired to do so.

DAY 5 - 27/03/2009

We woke up two hours beforehand to prepare as we will be having breakfast at the hotel. While we were having our american breakfast the guide walked toward me and asked if I am feeling unwell or not. I guess my dressing must have scared him as I was still wearing knee-length shorts and it was outdoor activities throughout the day. Haha then we went back to our room and vain. We vain so much that we were nearly late. Luckily there was one couple who was still taking pictures or else. Then we set-off to our first stop of the day sangsoo herb land.

There is something on the direction board that makes joel laugh like siao.

We were brought to walk around the garden by an in-charge over there.

Nothing interesting so dumb best and I started to take candid shots of each other.

Ajumma alice offered to help us take this picture.

Stupid dumb best want to act tall only. Purposely stand till so straight haha. After we took pictures with this heart plant we went to some bench to sit down to wait for the rest. As usual as long as it is something that dumb best and I are not interested we will find a spot to rest or we will visit the toilet. But the souvenirs shop at herb land did surprise us as they have lots of stuffs. We spent quite some time walking around the shop but still end up buying nothing.

Everland was next the place that dumb best and I had been waiting for since first the day of the trip. Once we alighted from the bus the wind hit us. It was freezing cold so dumb best and I were jumping around to keep ourselves warm. It was already noontime when we reached everland but the weather just does not want to cooperate. If I never remember wrongly, I was already wearing four layers of clothes but it was simply still not enough. Luckily it got better as we started to adapt to the coldness but my hands were still terribly frozen.

The first ride (skyway) we took to cross over to the other half of everland.

Then we watched some 3-D show that the guide suggested as he said it was affable to all the tour mates but I disagree as it brought me nothing but giddiness. The seat was vibrating like shit and they kept spraying air from nowhere. The 3-D spectacles made me feel even worse. So smart of me to take pictures with dumb best before the movie start because once the movie ended I could not help but to walk as fast as I could to get out of the damn theater.

The lunch which dumb best and I truly enjoyed. We finally had fried food.

Safari world was a total waste of time and we queued like shit man for it.

The bus tour brought you round the safari world for two rounds to see about eleven animals. Not to mention we get to see some of the animals in singapore zoo too. The only interesting thing that probably kept us interested was the greedy black bears. When the bus driver threw some crumbs to them they will stand up catch the crumbs and start turning round in circles. The adults in the bus were clapping as the bears were turning round and round.

Maybe we queued to see the habitat differences between korea and singapore zoo.

Dumb best grabbed hold of every opportunity to camwhore.

We took the highest fastest longest and greatest vertical inclination roller coaster.

I took the ride partly because andy and solbi couple took it before.

While dumb best was happy that the lettuce couple took the same ride too.

The ferris wheel was the only ride that we need not queue. Even though the cabin was small it fitted dumb best and I perfectly. The ride offers us an unparalleled view of the entire park. We were like wowing here and wowing there. Then while admiring the view of the park we started to camwhore inside the ferris wheel because there was no wind and secondly there was no third party around which made me feel really comfortable haha.

Dumb best can actually remember the exact spot that heechul stood.

Walked around their souvenirs shops before leaving to meet the rest.

The dinner that cost a lot of adults to feel unwell after eating it.

Stupid dumb best attempted to wake me up to watch the show with her but she failed. I must have been too tired because accompanied dumb best to somewhere. Then when we come back to singapore we realized something that makes dumb best want to dumb her head again the wall. That is sm building was within walking distance from the hotel that we stayed. Dumb best said if she knows it earlier she would have drag me there to take pictures early in the morning so maybe it is a good thing that she knows it when we are back or else I will have to sacrifice my sleep to accompany dumb best to go take pictures with the building.

DAY 6 - 28/3/2009

We had a super cheapskate breakfast for the day that tasted like shit.

The presidential blue house after visiting the ginseng monopoly showroom. The prices of the ginseng over there are crazy. Dumb best and I walked one round and we headed out off the showroom. Back to the presidential blue house it was the house where the korean president lives in. The guide let us take a few pictures before heading off to changdukgung palace the place designated for the royals. Then he started to tell us the reasons why he does not want to be the korean president no matter what happen and the history of changdukgung or rather on the last princess that lived in the palace. He said he hates @#$%&!*.

Dumb best wants to prove that she can take nice arty pictures too.

Everywhere we go we will attempt jump shots because people do not know us what.

We were dead tired by lunchtime because we spent an hour plus walking aimlessly around changdukgung. Why aimlessly. That because the chinese the in-charge over there spoke was horrendous. It was as good as listening to him mumbling in korean. The only happy thing we did is to stay inside the toilet and played with their water dispenser. Haha we had nothing better to do what luckily the lunch came in time to save us. Dumb best and I finished almost everything on the table. This impressed the ajummas as we seldom finished so much food.

Camwhored while waiting for the rest to finish their lunch. Dumb best and I always finished our breakfast/lunch/dinner very quickly maybe because we do not really eat all the side dishes and only concentrate on eating the stuffs we like that why almost all the time we were the first to finish. Anyway, the restaurant we went has a five star toilet. The toilets are really really grand and it is so much nicer than my house toilet and yeah it was quite a warmth afternoon.

We had kimchi-making session after lunch and the kimchi are for the less fortunate.

We tried on hanbok as well. Dumb best and I realised a shocking fact when we come back to singapore haha. The two stupid best friends haha. Thereafter, we went shinchon ladies street and coex mall. There goes all our money that we had scrimped and saved for the past few days. Too bad we were on quite a budget so there were many things that we had to give up and the stupid guide only gave us forty minutes to shop around coex mall. The best was we could withdraw money from the atm machine. It was cool like hell. Coex mall is seriously so much better to shop as compared to dongdaemun, jung angro street, shinchon ladies street and etc. I so miss coex mall already ): and their cheap discs.

The super cute lotte hotel world room keys. I was asking dumb best if we should bring one home because it was too adorable to resist but we still decided to return both the next day. On the way to our last hotel for the trip ): the guide was sharing with us how impressed he is with us. We were mere eighteen and he must have thought that we will be giving him lots of troubles that why he was so impressed with us for not giving him much troubles. We were seldom late for the arranged meet-up time and we will do whatever we were told to do.

Lotte world was fun but not as fun as compared to everland.

We are still child at heart so we tried out the camelot carrousel.

In the end it gave us nothing but giddiness while the rest who took the same ride as us seem to be enjoying it haha. Then we had a quick tour around lotte world before heading out to get our dinner. We nearly have to eat cup noodles for dinner. Luckily a few koreans saved our day and we managed to find lotteria. On the way back to the hotel, dumb best and I were feeling super moody because it was our last night in korea ): we keep telling each other day we will be back soon we will be back soon haha. Happy time always passes very quickly.

Lotteria for dinner and it was our last dinner in korea ): It was much cheaper as compared to the price of the fast food in singapore and it was yummy too. We were planning to ton through the night initially but fall sleep not long after I called home to inform them about the flight time and etc. The bed was too comfort to resist and the blanket was super soft. Under this kind of conditions tell me how not to fall asleep right. In the end we still spent our last night sleeping away instead of watching their television programmers haha.

DAY 7 - 29/03/2009

It was funny how dumb best told me that she will wake up earlier than me every morning to prepare as according to her I will hog onto the toilet for a very long time but she only ended up waking earlier than me on the first morning. For the rest of the morning I am the one who woke up earlier to prepare since I set my own alarm. If we were to rely on the morning call, I guess dumb best and I will be late every day because they only rang us fifteen minutes later than the supposedly wake up time. So usually after I am done with packing and checking I will start to nag at dumb best. It was fun seeing how clumsy she was trying to gather all her stuffs.

Friday 13th was an extremely bad day for me ): in the morning, was supposed to meet clique in school at 1030 so I went out of the house at 940 reached the bustop at 945 but guess what the bloody bus only came at 1015. But the trauma did not end here. When the bus reached somewhere I saw 2 61 zoomed passed me and I felt frustrated (which I should not) when the bus had to stop to pick/drop passengers. I swore the entire trauma nearly drove me to tears nevertheless when I reached school clique was still there waiting for me thanks people. Luckily the whole DiD experience make up for it :) it was really awesome and I have a deeper understanding of how a blind has to cope with his/her daily life now. Guide william was v nice to us too. But who knows the real trauma happened at night 8/ I feel like I did something which I should not have done it. When I reached home I felt so depressed about it that tears start rolling down my cheeks. I do not want to think about this anymore so let bygones be bygones. I promise to be better the next time :) or at least I will try. On the happier note, I attended school diligently for the past 4 weeks and now is left with 4 more + 1 attachment day to go. Hooray! Breathing cold air soon, soon enough I hope.

Closed to 8 weeks of holiday will officially end tonight when the clock strikes twelve. After doing some maths, five weeks of the holiday have been used up for work but I still earn peanut, two weeks were for mc because of some silly matter which some closed friends have already know about it and four days to eat and slack as well as to rest (or rather to have a sufficient 12 hours sleep). But soon I will have to battle with the nine strenuous schooling weeks. I will miss those working days with the little devils. I will miss their hugs their cries their ah~ah~ah and the troubles that they bring to me. How I wish I have a class photo of them with all the cute poses that they are capable of but it kind of hard to have all the toddlers’ attention and posing for you. Whatever it is, it is depressing that school starting already ): back to reality once again.

had a hard time dealing with a diffult child who can really drive me crazy
